Totally Mental

Mental Floss. I've been subscribing to this site's RSS feed for about 6 months now, and I must give it an A+++ rating. This site feeds the inner nerd/knowledge-junkie/know-it-all that is inside all of us. It has every thing you've never wondered about but after consideration are happier for knowing. Why Christianity is Crap

Christians are the laughing stock of the world, why? Well Christ said it himself, a house divided among itself cannot stand. We fight and fight and fight against each other, undermining our "competing" denomination's local church. You wonder why Islam is the fastest growing religion? Because Christians cannot come to a conclusion who God is... so if we can't collectively decide who God is then why should anyone gives us any credibility.

Catholics claim they are the only real Church, Lutherans can't make up their mind if they are Catholic or Protestant, Quakers... well... they are unique, Protestants who hate Pentecostals and Charismatics and try to limit God, Pentecostals who try to liberate God, and then Charismatics who try to... well it seems like they can't get along with anyone.

You wonder why people hate us? Look in the mirror. We are to busy fighting each other, too busy trying to limit God, too much time trying to "free" God from those who limit Him... It's a novel idea to think that we can LIMIT a GOD even more hilarious to think that HUMANS have the ability to Liberate a God.

My advice is this. Catholics, you ain't all that; Quakers... damn good job being yourself; Protestants, Shut the hell up; Pentecostals and Charismatics, get over yourselves. You subscribe to the same God so at least pretend to get along.

For those Nerds out there who have always dreamed about attending the illustrious, infamous, and awe inspiring MIT I have found the solution! Whether it is the $300,000 tuition, or the insanely high standards for admission that have kept you from the hallowed grounds of the institute, we can now, all, learn from their professors.

Thanks to their Open Courseware, anyone, anywhere, anytime, can download lectures, notes, and black board notes from their site. Thanks to the wonders of the internet we can all receive a $300,000 education for the price of internet connection and a computer.

Sacrifice

I heard someone once preach that there are two types of Christians. The ones that became a Christian to save themselves from Hell, and those that chose to follow Christ just because He deserves to be followed. And the category we fall into reflects our salvation.

That made me think things over for a moment. Hypothetically, even if being a Christian couldn't save you from Hell, would you still be one?
